Removing wrinkles have never has been so easy.

We’ve got a professional botox specialist at FillerHouse. Botox is a brand name for the active substance botulinum toxin. This is a protein that reduces muscle activity and has been used safely and successfully since the 1990s to treat facial wrinkles. Botox is now one of the most popular procedures in the Dutch cosmetic industry.

When do I need Botox?

icon stars

Because Botox reduces muscle activity, it is ideal for reducing wrinkles caused by muscle tension. By injecting it into the muscles in the face, the wrinkles that arise will disappear or diminish. Botox is mainly used in the upper half of the face. For example, the treatment of the frown wrinkle, crow's feet or the forehead.

Medical applications

In addition to this cosmetic application, Botox can also be used medically: migraine, teeth grinding and excessive sweating can be treated well with it. Botox can also be injected into the chin in case of an overactive chin muscle.

Botox or fillers?

A common misconception is that Botox is used in the lips or to treat bags under the eyes. Botox is not suitable for this. Instead, fillers are used.

How does a Botox treatment work?

An anesthetic is not necessary for a Botox treatment. With a very fine injection needle we inject a small amount of botox directly into the relevant muscle. The total treatment takes about 15 minutes. After that you can go straight home!

Risks & complications

After the Botox treatment, a small bruise may appear that disappears after a few days. In rare cases, a drooping eyelid can occur during the treatment of frown lines. This will only be present for a few weeks and will disappear on its own. With a treatment of the forehead, it is possible that the eyebrows drop a little bit due to muscle relaxation. All these complications are rare, which is why Botox is considered the safest and most effective wrinkle treatment available. Botox has been administered safely and without side effects or complications by many doctors for years.

Recovery and aftercare

It is important to move and use the injected muscle a few times during the first hour after treatment. This way, the Botulinum Toxin can quickly settle in the muscle. To prevent infections, we do not recommend lying down or using make-up during the first 4 hours after the treatment. In addition, we recommend not exercising for 12 to 24 hours after the treatment and avoiding the sauna and/or tanning bed.

Result

After 3 to 5 days the effect is noticeable and your wrinkles are already a lot softer. After 2 weeks, the muscles are optimally relaxed and the effect of the treatment is maximized. The duration of the result differs per person and varies from 3 to 6 months. You can then repeat the treatment. Experience shows that the more often you undergo a treatment, the longer the result lasts and the treatment frequency decreases.

FAQ botox

We are happy to explain everything you want to know about botox and injectables in our FAQ!

Botox is actually a muscle relaxant. By introducing this substance into the skin, wrinkles and fine lines diminish or disappear. The botox (also called Botulinum Toxin) is inserted with a very thin needle at the desired location, such as a certain wrinkle or line that bothers you.

In principle, anyone can undergo this treatment. It is wise to discuss the possible risks of the treatment with the doctor in advance.

As we age, various aging processes occur, such as skin sagging and skin aging. Because the skin loses elasticity, wrinkles and lines can appear. The extent to which someone suffers from skin aging depends on a number of factors, such as genetic predisposition, lifestyle, exposure to the sun and stress.

Immediately after a botox treatment you often don’t see any results. Results will be visible after about 5 days. In the beginning, the treated area may still be a little red and swollen. Many women (and nowadays also men) opt for this treatment for its beautiful, natural and fast result.

Before your treatment takes place, you discuss your wishes and expectations with our doctor. The doctor will explain whether these wishes are feasible. It is also possible that a filler treatment is better suited to your wishes or that a combination of botox and fillers will provide the best result.

The Botox treatment is generally not considered a painful treatment. The insertion of the needle can be compared to a pinprick and is perceived by clients as the least pleasant.

As with all other cosmetic procedures, you yourself have an important share in the result. It is therefore important that you adhere to the before and after care. For example, instructions are given about smoking and the use of alcohol. Your health also affects your recovery and the final result.

The main advantage of a botox treatment is that it is a relatively safe treatment with quick results.

There are different types of muscle relaxants. However, when Botox is mentioned, the substance Botulinum Toxin is always referred to.

We never choose to perform the Botox treatment under full anesthesia.

Several zones can be treated with Botox at the same time in one treatment. Together with the doctor you discuss which you want to have treated. Here you indicate the most important wrinkles and lines that bother you. Botox is not only used in the face, but also in the armpits, for example, against excessive sweating. It is also possible to combine a botox treatment with a lip augmentation, which is done with fillers.

The duration of the Botox treatment depends on a number of factors. This depends, among other things, on the number of zones that are treated and the amount of ml you want to have injected. On average, the doctor spends between 10 and 30 minutes on the treatment.

Botox starts to work after 48 hours, it usually takes a week before the result becomes visible. The maximum effect is reached after two weeks and the cosmetic result lasts about 3 to 6 months.

The effect of the Botox treatment will decrease over time, because your body undoes the effect. The effect is no longer visible about 6 to 12 months after the treatment.

The cost of the botox treatment depends on a number of factors, such as the amount of botox (in ml) that must be injected. The more Botox is needed and the more areas you have treated, the higher the cost of the treatment. View our full price list for botox treatments above.

There are many types of injectables with large differences in quality. FillerHouse only uses the best quality injectables. We use, among other things, the brand Stylage® from Vivacy. We use the brand Botox® for a treatment with the substance Botulinum Toxin.

It is striking that the number of men who opt for a botox treatment has increased sharply in recent years. About 10 years ago there was hardly a single man who opted for a botox treatment, now this is about 10%. An important reason for this is that the taboo on such cosmetic procedures is increasingly being broken.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay for the Botox treatment in installments.

Before you undergo treatment with us, we think it is important to discuss your wishes and health. We do this during a free and non-binding intake interview in which we answer all your questions and reassure you where necessary.

Botox is mainly suitable for reducing the so-called dynamic wrinkles, such as crow's feet, forehead and frown lines. Botox is also suitable for the treatment of wrinkles on the upper lip, nose and chin. Botox treatments are also regularly used in the treatment of teeth grinding, migraine and excessive sweating.

Wrinkles are a natural result of skin collapsing and aging. As the years go by, your skin becomes less elastic and, in combination with reduced collagen production, wrinkles appear. By starting with botox in time, you prevent the formation of wrinkles. Wrinkles that are already present can also be treated well with this.

During a botox treatment we talk about zones. For example, one zone concerns the frown lines. Crow's feet are also a zone, just like forehead wrinkles.

Botox treatments are relatively safe. Side effects are rare and occur mainly at the injection site. Think of slight swelling and red discolorations of the skin. Botox is only toxic in exceptionally high concentrations, just like paracetamol, for example. A botox treatment at FillerHouse is not dangerous, because the treatment is carried out by an experienced and skilled doctor. Botox has been used for over 30 years and apart from the effect on the muscles being treated, it has no effect on other parts of the body. Only in a few cases does it happen that, for example, an eyelid temporarily droops as a result of a botox injection. It is therefore important that you inform the treating specialist in advance about your current state of health, possible use of medication and medical conditions.

Botox does not make your face expressionless when you have the treatment performed by a professional. At FillerHouse, the emphasis of the treatment is always on a natural result. The experienced doctor is careful and extremely precise with the injections, so that there is no question of an excess of botulinum toxin.

Both botox and fillers are injectables that are used in the treatment of wrinkles. However, Botox has a different effect than fillers. Botox stops the muscle in a certain area and is therefore suitable for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles, among other things. Botox has a preventive effect and prevents existing wrinkles from getting deeper. Fillers, on the other hand, fill in wrinkles. Nowadays it is also possible to opt for a combination of botox and fillers.

No, it is wrongly thought that people with full lips have undergone a botox treatment. Botox can be used to treat wrinkles around your mouth and lips, but not to plump your lips. If you want fuller lips, the doctor will advise treatment with fillers.

Botox is absorbed into the treated area and this takes time. The use of alcohol has the effect of widening your blood vessels, allowing the botox to move. This increases the risk of side effects. However, moving the botox to a surrounding muscle is an exceptional case. Do you want a good result and minimize the risk of side effects? Then wait at least 24 hours before drinking alcohol after a botox treatment.

You will be advised not to lie down immediately after the treatment. A visit to the solarium is definitely not recommended. The doctor will advise you to wait at least 24 hours before visiting the tanning bed. It is even better to wait until any swelling and red discolorations have disappeared.
